Festival Information
"Some information may change for the 2013 Grape Stomp.*
Shuttles
Will run to all Alexandria Hotels and Downtown Alexandria. They will be available Friday Evening, and all day Saturday & Sunday. Cost is $2. If you feel you should not drive home, please feel free to take the shuttle back to town and leave your vehicle in our parking lot - especially if you drive a Shelby Mustang. Finish your wine before you ride! Consumption of alcoholic beverages on-board shuttles is prohibited.
Admission
A $3/person admission fee will be charged to all attending the festival on Friday & Saturday, with FREE admission on Sunday! The Dweebs barn dance on Friday evening requires a $10 ticket, which is available online or at the door.
Access
The festival is handicap accessible, and will go on rain or shine! Although all major activities are under cover, please wear sunscreen and/or bring rain gear as appropriate.
Parking
Plenty of free parking for passenger vehicles and busses is available on-site. No stopping on County Road 34 at any time (even just to drop people off). We’ve had some close calls. It’s dangerous, and we want to make sure everyone arrives and gets home safely.
Pets
Unfortunately, except for service animals, pets will not be admitted on the festival grounds and cannot be left in your vehicle. Please make alternate arrangements for your pets.
Minors
Though minors under the age of 21 will be admitted, this is primarily an adult event, and no specific children’s activities are planned. Parents may want to consider alternative arrangements for child care during the event.
Smoking
Carlos Creek Winery is a non-smoking property. Smoking is allowed in designated areas only.
Food & Beverages
There will be plenty of fine foods and wine available for sale at the festival. Outside food, alcoholic beverages and non-alcoholic beverages are not allowed. Coolers & Picnic Baskets will not be permitted on the festival grounds.
ATMs
ATMS will be located throughout the Festival Grounds for your convenience.
Wristbands
If you plan to purchase wine (and we hope you do!) you must be 21 and you must be wearing a "21 or Older" wristband. Wristbands will be given out free of charge at the admissions area to all guests who 21 or older. All guests should be prepared with PHOTO ID showing proof of age.
Wine Pick-Up Service
Don't feel like carrying your wine purchases around? Use our Wine Pick-up Service! Ask for a Wine Claim Check when you purchase wine in the Tasting Room. Give half of the claim check to the winery and hang onto the other half - you will need this to claim your wine. In approximately 1 hour, your wine will be waiting at the admissions tent. If you need help back to your car, guest service personal will be more than happy to transport you and your wine!
Responsible Participation
Please participate responsibly in festival activities! Carlos Creek Winery cares about your safety. The Douglas County Sheriff's Dept. will be onsite to assist. Drinking in the parking lot or on shuttles will not be allowed. Appropriate dress is required. Behavior considered offensive to others will not be tolerated. Carlos Creek Winery reserves the right to refuse the sale of wine to anyone.
PLEASE NOTE: It is against Minnesota Law to serve alcohol to intoxicated persons – even those taking shuttles or with designated drivers.
